How To Make an Online Course Website with Divi and LifterLMS

Selling courses is a great way to monetize your website and create an income stream. By selling courses on your website, you get to keep 100% of the profits and don’t have to worry about paying fees to third-party sites.

In this tutorial, I’ll show you step by step how to create a WordPress website for online courses using Divi and LifterLMS plugin. Let’s begin!

Getting Started With Your WordPress Course Website

To get started with your online course website, you’ll need to purchase a domain name and a hosting plan. In this part of the tutorial, we’ll go through the following steps:

  • Getting a domain name and hosting
  • Installing WordPress
  • Installing Divi and LifterLMS

Here’s a quick look at the website we’ll be creating:

Let’s go through these steps one by one.

Step 1: Get Domain and Hosting

The first step is to get a domain name for your website and a hosting plan. I personally use and recommend Siteground. Siteground scored as the number one hosting company when tested against 15 other hosting providers. Siteground has the best uptime and fast loading times which means your students will have a great user experience while learning. Siteground also allows you to purchase a domain name at the same time you’re setting up your hosting plan.

Let’s start by going over to Siteground. You can choose between three different plans but I recommend choosing the Grow Big plan. With this plan, you can host an unlimited number of websites and you get more disk space and bandwidth.

Select your plan and then think about the domain name you want for your online course website. If your courses revolve around the same main topic, you can opt for a domain name with relevant keywords. Or, use your name if you plan to sell a lot of smaller, unrelated courses. Once you have chosen a domain name, you can then enter your payment information on the next page.

After submitting the payment, Siteground will create your account and you will be able to go to your customer area.

Step 2: Install WordPress

Once you log into your customer area in Siteground, you need to install WordPress. You’ll see an orange button that will prompt you to set up your site. Click the button and select Start New Website > WordPress
